Daily Cleaning
No matter which kind of floor you have or which type of finish is used, all hardwood floors should be cleaned on a daily basis. Using a dust pad or vacuum on the floors should be done daily. This will keep the dirt and grit off the floor which if left can cause premature wear. Wipe up food and other spills with a dampened cleaning pad or paper towel. If needed, lightly spray a cleaner on that section of your floor and wipe dry.

Annual Cleaning
At WEST | WOOD, we can provide an annual maintenance program of cleaning and reconditioning your site finished or prefinished wood floor. We have a professional go to your site to inspect your floor and recommend the best course of action. The services typically offered are a Professional Maintenance Coat or Buff and Coat depending upon the type of finish you have.
Our Professional Maintenance Coat is compatible with all oil finishes. It helps protect, nourish and rejuvenate any oiled or hardwax oil finished wood flooring. Regular maintenance will help reduce wear spots and dirt buildup in high traffic areas.
A Buff and Coat is the process of sprucing up a polyurethane floor by applying another top coat. We deep clean the floors with a machine buffer to remove dirt and cleaning product residue by lightly sanding the floors. This dustless process buffs out scuffs and surface scratches to prepare the floor for the new finish. Because this process requires more hands-on knowledge and skill, we recommend you hire a professional for this service.
